The Ultimate Lawn Care Tool – M1 Garand

Fed Ex was kind enough to drop off a shiny CMP Special Springfield M1 Garand today. The ‘born on’ date for this rifle is somewhere in October/November of 1943. It looks great at 66 years old and I’m sure it will be fun to shoot.

[Not a valid template]

It should do the job until I can afford a Dillon Aero.

Dillon Aero M134

UPDATE:
If you’ve arrived looking for M1 Garand care and maintenance information, just about everything you need to know is at the CMP M1 Garand page. M1 Garand Armory has detailed information on heat lots, serial numbers, and more.

    You don’t get a Dillon Aero until I get my M163A1 !!!
    🙂
I gotta finish the “civilian” part of the CMP and become a citizen so as I can get something from them. I don’t want a Garand (they’re moider on a left-handed shooter like me) but they do have M1 carbines kickin’ around…

It’s a deal! You can have a Vulcan, if I can have a Dillon Aero. 🙂

The carbines are nice, historical, and completely understandable for a Southpaw.

I’m going for High Power/Service Rifle competition, so I need the extra oomph!
